Curcumin reduces inflammation by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), prostaglandins and leukotrienes. Research shows that Curcumin protects the lungs from damage caused by cigarette smoke. Curcumin also detoxifies the liver, protects the immune system and has blood thinning (antithrombotic) effects.
