ROSEHIP OIL
A genuinely cold pressed, Ecocertified product of amazing purity. Depending on the season, its colour can be deep red to golden orange. It is rare to obtain a product which contains vitamins A (in the form of beta carotene), C as well as E, in totally natural form.
It has a marvelous balance of linoleic (44%) and Alpha Linolenic (34%) acids. This is one of the main reasons (i.e. very high fatty acid content), that it is showing fantastic results in the regeneration of skin cells and the repair of damaged tissues. In this regard, it has been shown to retard the signs of premature ageing and provide superb results in the treatment of scars, skin spots, as well as burns.
With regard to burns, only use the oil once any open wounds have closed. Applied regularly during a period of three months, Rosehip oil was found to enable the following:
* Counteracts the effects of dry skin caused by sun exposure and reduce wrinkles (as signs of premature ageing).
* Improves the colour and surface of attenuate scars, as well as avoiding the formation of keloid type scars. Scars left by acne or chicken pox also respond well. It is however not suitable for oily skins or current acne conditions.
* Provides significant relief from itching and inflammation associated with dry eczema.
* Makes a very well received and soothing direct application for sunburn.
Although effective when used directly, it is more specific to many conditions when combined with appropriate essential oils.

Applications of Rosehip oil made on surgical scars, starting the day after the stitches were removed, showed after three months of morning and evening application, that the scars were less apparent, without lumps and that the colour of the area had improved significantly. Skin elasticity had also improved.
