Hi [NAME] |
No Meat Challenge Message Five |
Well done! With your second last day of the challenge almost behind you we wanted to remind you that there is absolutely no reason why your no-meat diet cannot satisfy your body’s protein needs.
A well-planned vegan or vegetarian lifestyle has many health and environmental benefits and can be suitable for all stages of life. It is important though to ensure a balanced and varied diet that supplies all the nutrients required to stay healthy.
Vegetarian sources of protein include beans and pulses, soya based products, nuts and seeds and grains. Quinoa is not only a complete protein but also a good source of all eight essential amino acids. Click here to read about it.
Another tip to remember is that a combination of a complex carbohydrate and a plant protein (i.e. brown rice and beans) at the same meal, or eaten over the course of the day, will create a complete protein.
Blood tests, such as a Live Blood Analysis, can be done to assess whether you have a mineral deficiency. Click here to read more.
Abundant health,
Matthew Ballenden
