Moltex Öko nappies have been dermatologically tested and were established to be suitable for babies with eczema and sensitive skin since it is free from perfumes, lotions and chemical antioxidants.

Tributyl Tin (TBT) is a potentially harmful chemical found in some disposable nappies. According to Greenpeace Germany this substance can be absorbed through the skin and can have an effect on the hormonal and immune systems. Rest assured that Moltex Öko nappies are free from TBT.

Moltex Öko nappies are free from natural latex that can cause an allergic reaction in some babies. Moltex Öko also contains NO perfumes, lotions, dioxin or chemical antioxidants.

The absorbent core contains absorbent gel that is made from synthetic material. This material has been carefully tested and no health risk, even with direct skin contact, is indicated. Its capacity to store liquid is much higher than cellulose. Consumer tests have shown that 3 to 5 times more nappies were needed over the same time period when it did not contain the absorbent gel. It is thus ecologically more beneficial to replace some of the cellulose with absorbent gel to decrease nappy wastage. The gel also ensures that your baby stays dry and comfortable and decreases the chances of irritation and nappy rash.

The protective back sheet film of the Moltex Öko nappy is composed partly from starch from renewable raw materials and is 100% biodegradable. The film offers protection against leakage but is permeable to air and steam. Steam caused by urine can therefore escape and the temperature inside the nappy is regulated and contributes to wearing comfort for your baby.

The absorbent core of Moltex Öko nappies is 100% chlorine free. Pollution that usually accompanies manufacturing processes with bleaching agents such as chlorine is therefore absent. Instead, the fluff inside the core of the nappy is bleached with oxygen and its compounds peroxide and ozone. The timber for the fluff is sourced from sustainable woodlands where the safeguarding of protected and endangered animal and plant species is a priority.

In the production of Moltex Öko nappies, only raw materials which adhere to the recommendations of the FDA (Food & Drug Administration), or the German ‘Bundesamt für Verbrauchershutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit’, or where standards of purity can be documented by the raw material supplier, are used. External laboratories regularly perform audits to ensure that the raw materials are harmless and the product is certified by independent experts as marketable.
