Earth Tofu
Earth Tofu is a type of firm bean curd, prepared from water, GMO free soybeans, and a coagulating agent.
Tofu is traditionally used in Asian countries in dishes such as stir fries and soups.
Tofu is notably rich in protein, choline, calcium, iron and other minerals, and is low in bad fats, and carbohydrates. This makes tofu a great choice of ingredient for those trying to lose weight, lower cholesterol, or simply increase protein levels in their diets.
Tofu attracts flavours like a sponge, so learning how to cook with it is key to its flavour. Two simple suggestions would be to cube and marinade this firm tofu and lightly grill it, or, to add it into a pot/ pan with onions and stock, and let it simmer until it has absorbed the full flavour of the surrounding ingredients. Add these to pastas, rice dishes, salads etc.
Tofu is conventionally cooked into miso soup, and stir fries, but why not try making scrambled 'egg', or tofu patties with it.
