Viridian Licorice Root Capsules
Viridian Licorice Root provides a standardized extract of licorice root, containing glycyrrhizinic acid, a therapeutic compound that naturally occurs in licorice.
Licorice root is one of the most widely used medicinal herbs in the world. Its use originates from Traditional Chinese Medicine, where the is often recommended as a tonic for the spleen and heart, colds, ulcers (in its deglycyrrized form), and skin disorders.
Other common uses now include the treatment of adrenal insufficiency, and associated hypoglycemia, stress, or chronic fatigue syndrome. It is also used in allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, and to cleanse the liver and blood.

Licorice protects the body against certain cancer causing agents such as arsenic, caffeine, and nicotine, and research even shows that this herb may have a place in the treatment of hepatitis B, and in preventing HIV infection from progressing to full blown Aids.
Please note that licorice should be taken under the supervision of a reliable health practitioner, as it can interact with certain medications, and can have side effects for those with oestrogen sensitive disorders. Standard licorice can aggravate ulcers, and doses over 3gm daily can increase blood pressure, and loss of potassium. Use with caution if pregnant or nursing.
